In 2023 we were fortunate to welcome detectives from Homeland Security to bring their resources to help in the fight against child trafficking.  This level of co-location is one of the first in the nation and it is what makes Project Harmony possible.

At Project Harmony, we have seen firsthand the devastating impact of child sex trafficking in our region. We believe in a future where this exploitation of our youth is eradicated. To achieve this vision, we must unite as a community, leveraging our resources, determination, and compassion.

We are excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive trafficking initiative targeting youth trafficking in all its forms. We take immense pride in securing the support of essential stakeholders, including the Omaha Police Department, Mayor’s Office, Douglas County Attorneys, and an additional 60 local nonprofits.

After evaluating the needs and identifying the gaps over the past year, our board has enthusiastically endorsed this initiative to better serve the vulnerable population affected by trafficking. We have diligently convened all relevant organizations dedicated to combating trafficking and aiding survivors. This collaborative effort aims to pool our resources and expertise to amplify our impact through a united front.

This initiative is not just about raising awareness; it’s about taking concrete steps to prevent exploitation, empower survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. From education and prevention programs to support services for survivors, every aspect of our initiative requires a network of resources.

In the video below, you’ll witness the stark realities of child sex trafficking in our community. But what’s equally important to note is that the faces you’ll see are those of children or grandchildren of Project Harmony staff, however the shadowed faces and voices you’ll hear belong to real survivors. They are not just statistics or anonymous victims.

Project Harmony goes to great lengths to safeguard the confidentiality and well-being of survivors. The children, now young adults, who bravely share their experiences with us do so with purpose. They seek not only to shed light on their own journey but to advocate for change, to ensure that no child suffers the horrors they’ve endured.

These voices, these testimonies, they are the keys to unlocking a solution. Their courage, their resilience, must not be overlooked.
