Designed to educate, equip and empower parents, caregivers and educators with the knowledge and resources needed to protect children from online dangers including predators, cyberbullies and threats related to gaming, social networking and mobile devices.
Description:
Online safety is a shared responsibility between the public, the internet industry and the legal community. However – parents, caregivers and educators remain the first line of defense in protecting their children against the potential dangers lurking online. Unfortunately, most are ill-equipped, uninformed and often overwhelmed when it comes to online safety. This online safety training will help educate, equip and empower you – as a parent, educator or other caring adult – to prevent any dangers from impacting your child, thereby protecting their innocence.
Participants will:
- Recognize and understand the differences in some of the most commonly used apps by children and teens
- Explore a series of tools that can help navigate technology use
- Learn ways to engage children and teens in ongoing discussions about online safety
CEUs are not offered for this training, however, certificates of attendance will be provided.
