About Kraig Lofquist
Dr. Kraig J. Lofquist started as the ESUCC Executive Director on July 1, 2019. Prior to his new position, he was the Chief Administrator of Educational Service Unit 9 for eight years located in Hastings, NE. Kraig has been a leader within several statewide educational organizations and is also a member of several statewide committees. He is a Past-President of Nebraska’s Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council (ESUCC) and has been a member of the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association’s (NRCSA) Legislative Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Nebraska’s Committee of Practitioners that works to ensure compliance with federal programs. He is also the Secretary/Treasurer for Nebraska Schoolmasters and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Kraig received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern State University, Master of Science in Education from University of Nebraska at Kearney, Master of Arts in Education from University of Nebraska at Kearney, Education Specialist from Wayne State College, and Doctor of Educational Leadership at the University of Nebraska -Lincoln. Dr. Lofquist has additional experience as a Speech/Language Pathologist, Director of Special Education and Director of Student Services. Dr. Lofquist is an avid endurance athlete having completed 44 marathons. He is a proud member of the Seven Continents Club, having run a marathon on each continent. He has also completed 6 Ironman competitions. He is married and has three daughters.
